Who would give away an idea to possibly make millions of dollars for free - I would.
I had this idea awhile back: What if you could have your own google play store or itunes, would you want it. Sure, why not, but why would anyone come to my online and mobile sites if they can go to those sites. Easy, sell something they don't have. What's that hobo? 3d blueprints

Since 3d printers will be all the rage one day for home use, why not design a 3d design store. A what? A store that will sell 3d plans to the mass coming market. Why would people want to buy 3d blueprints? BECAUSE, not everyone will want to use 3dsmax, or some cad program to design prints. Why not? BECAUSE, A) they don't know how to use those programs and B) they can pay you 25 cents for a blueprint for a 2mm nut and bolt set is why. and 10 dollars for a xxxxx etc
Aren't there other sites out there that are trying to sell 3d designs already and aren't there sites that give them away for free? Yes, but their sites are very limited and their vision the same. Plus, the market will not be in place for awhile - at least until 3d printers are affordable for mass home use. So, the goal for now would be to build the biggest data library in the world, wait and then corner the market.
How? Im not giving you that, im giving you the idea. BUT... if I wanted to build a huge collection (millions) of 3d plans for sell, i know i couldn't do it alone. What do you mean? I mean itunes doesnt produce their library. Huh? BUT HOW? it's easy, if you think about it.
Sure my idea is free, but if you want to give me 500,000+ dollars after selling your user base and library to google, i'll surely accept it. do I think you would be nice enough to do that, hardly; but Im nice enough to share a mutli million + idea for free - I rock, yay!.

Making electric cars more energy efficient
While I'm not personally into the idea of of electric cars (i prefer hydrogen) it seems like they are insistent on pushing this industry to market. If the case to to continue i have a couple basic ideas to help improve the efficiency of its power system.
- Add charging turbines to the axels. since the cars axels turn while its moving you can build turbines into the axel which will help charge the battery; much like an alternator does on a belt system. however, these will not rely on belts, just the movement of the car.
- add mini wind turbines in the design. As the car is moving there is air flow, why not have some mini wind turbines built in the cars design. you can use hood scoops to funnel the air etc.
These systems are there just to maximize battery life; they are not designed to charge the car. Even if it is just a 10-20% battery life increase, its an increase.
Have you ever stood on the side of a highway/interstate with cars traveling 120kmh+ (74 mph). It creates a lot of air flow doesn't it. When trucks past the air can even push you. I wonder what kinds of return in power one could create if they built little wind turbines along the roads of busy fast flowing interstates/highways.
How much would a house box fan that costs around 2 cent an hour to run cost if it had a turbine built into it. 1cent? .5 cents? A ceiling fan?
What if Saturn's ring was actually a turbine. Could earth have a turbine ring built around it. what kind of power could that create.
Anyway, I guess I'll go rake some leaves. It's Autumn in OZ

Continuing on the GBN idea. This network needs to be black ops material of course. Also, the cables should be housed inside a high tech pipe before it's laid.
These pipes should act like the pipes i described in the post i wrote about creating jobs in america.
These high tech pipe should be fitted with real time sensors that can communicate if the pipe is/has been compromised. For example, these pipes should be able to relay that its cracked 5 cms from x on the y side.
Being that the GBN will have no communication with public networks, you will need these high tech housings as a level of security. Since the only way to connect to the GBN will be at known and monitored access points the only other way one could connect would be to find the actual cable system and connect somewhere along the pipeline. Having these pipes would help protect bludgers from tapping in.
Also when laying the GBN, it should have several cable paths (avenues/branches). So in case one part of the pipeline is compromised, that part could be shut down and the others could remain active.

How to stop Government systems from being hacked
Since Australia is rolling out the NBN (national broadband network), why not lay a separate GBN (government broadband network) that will basically act as a vpn between all the government entities in the country. These system will be separate from public access. Sensitive computers should only be hooked up to the GBN while employee computers needing access to the www will be hooked up to the NBN.
The GBN network should have zero wireless access, nor public communications through chat or emails.
America could follow suit.
Anyway.
Off topic: the Australian government could save money if it went with drones attached with thermal imaging to sweep the coastal waters looking for boats carrying illegals. Rather than waste tons of fuel on ships with their navy and coast guards.
These drones can be launched from the coast or water (from ships); while the ships stay and the drones do all the work at night. Why sweep the waters with ships, when a drone 1/1000th the size can do it at 1/1000th the cost of fuel. The ships will just wait to intercept at reduced fuel consumption.

Economic tips for Australia
Australia could bolster it's economy with some of the following ideas that may also generate global investment opportunities:
Since Australia is home to a plethora of iron ore this is easy; Manufacture more weapons and sell them.
Invest into Meteo Systems to create water. I would say create more desalination plants, but, the Meteo systems would be more cost effective. Why create water, to sell it and consume it.
Also, after having the meteo systems in place; terraform infertile areas into fertile plains. This land could then be used for Agriculture and New residential/manu/commercial Development.
New areas of development would also aid in transportation development. New roads/rails. For example, say a resort town in the center of Australia is built; with its man made lakes, luxury golf courses, etc etc is built - a new bullet train system to Perth and Sydney would be nice.
R and D departments would need to be developed for Terra forming. Their tasks would not be limited in developing usable fertile lands; they could also create and research future tech. Tech that will be used for under sea and off earth Terra forming.
Australia needs to look at it's policy on marijuana as America is currently doing so. A marijuana supply to a billion Chinese sounds like a plan to me. If marijuana laws were relaxed to the point where the plant were legal and assessable, it would also help boost tourism, let alone local tax revenues. We are talking a billion dollar industry; without becoming china's supplier.
Why an Island continent isnt the World's Fort Knox is beyond me. This country should become neutral and house all the worlds precious metals and gems -The world banks safety deposit box.
