I don't know what you can do with this idea. I actually made it for a science project when I was in high school. I got a A- for my efforts, but to be honest I should have gotten a D for effort since I put it together in a few hours the night before it was due.
I just made a basic box and hooked up an motor from a cheap remote control car. It was the cheap kind of remote controls cars; where the remote is wired to the car. So all i did was house the remote board and buttons in the box too. I took the metal piece of a aluminum foil box and used it on the dispenser to have it easily rip the paper. One button made it roll out the other roll back.
This was 1996 my senior year before those automated hand paper dispensers; which are now motion activated.
Anyway, the trick is to get the toilet roll and motor synced together. To think about it i used erasers and tooth picks - haha. i got it to work though. and the roll sat on a screw at the other end so it could flow freely. I would do it different now if i were to make one. you could actually sell a modified roll thats made specifically for them. Like i said though i don't know what you could do with this idea. Possibly add a quarter slot and stick it in airport bathrooms huh. Unless the market wants motorized dispensers in their bathrooms. ones that can program x amount of paper to come out etc.
I'd draw you some plans but Im not in the mood. Im still stressed out about the impending birth in two days time. My version ran on double AA's and was portable. Plus my box was cardboard. Owell it helped my graduate. Its one of the few inventions I've actually made. I tried to make a part of a magnetic turbine but in the end i needed manufactured magnets in specific shapes and sizes that i could not afford.
So i never went back and tried to make the machine. i did muster to get a revolution out of it - one 360 turn. But like I said i didnt have the professional parts. I used bs toy magnets, part of an old table top fan, tape and a number 2 pencil.
I have a children's toy turbine design as well - made from a child's toy. One day when i have time. The idea sounds good in theory.
I just hope everything goes well with the birth and we can live the life we dream. on a farm one day. i want to get into aquaponics. to grow fish and veggies in one system. if we ever get there I'll blog about that. i may make some videos as well. that dreams a few years off. but considering the cost of land here..... shhhhhit.
